James Ian is an actor, model, singer, songwriter, writer, & poet. He has Spinal Muscular Atrophy ("SMA") Type 3, & is a passionate advocate for authentic representation of disabled artists in music, TV, film, & other media. He is the singer & primary songwriter of "SPACES," which is a first-of-its-kind song that highlights those living with SMA. He has performed at many events & venues, including the White House in 2024, the Closing Ceremony of the Special Olympics, & the Lincoln Center.
